Full time, permanent position

Field Sales role focusing on UK, Ireland and Benelux with an office base in North Edinburgh, Scotland.

The remit

It's all about lead generation, focused proactive sales activity, growing our customer base and sales revenue. You will be responsible for business development and increasing sales across our remote sensor portfolio of LiDAR and GPS products. We are looking for an experienced, motivated and results-driven technical sales consultant who has a background in the industrial automation or robotics sectors.

You will have the skills and experience to substantially increase turnover over the next 2 years by leveraging the rapidly growing automation, robotics and autonomous markets which offers many applications and opportunities. You will increase our market share and deliver the challenging turnover targets we have set ourselves to turn the company into a multi-million pound business.

About you

5+ years experience in B2B technical product field sales, you are accountable to deliver at both a strategic level and on the day-to-day operations, and can demonstrate a proven record of sales to both new and existing customers.

You will have the ability to learn the technical details across our product portfolio and the problems they solve for our customers. Unafraid of responsibility, you will be driven, proactive and persistant with a hunger to realise the full potential of an exciting emerging market with huge scope for growth. Engaged and responsive, you will be customer focused with a strong work ethic to get the job done. Enthusiastic, with bags of initiative and ideas, you will determine market trends, identify opportunities and convert sales. You will be honest, consultative and communicative.

You will understand what motivates customers to buy and know how to tap into those needs and desires in an effective way.

Key areas of delivery include

Reporting directly to the Commercial Director, you will work closely with the Directors supported by a Sales Administrator, technical support and the marketing team. You will:

•Focus on new customer acquisition to proactively expand our customer base across our primary geographical markets of UK, Ireland and Benelux to increase revenue.
•Achieve sales goals and report on actuals and forecasts on a monthly and quarterly basis.
•Develop and ensure execution of sales strategies and plans in a timely manner.
•Evaluate market opportunities and provide recommendations to the Board for decision making.
•Develop and maintain contacts within target markets to understand and report on market trends, opportunities and local conditions.
•Be responsible for strategic key account management of our customers to ensure repeat business.
•Identify areas where we can improve customer satisfaction and repeat business, then communicate those issues and possible solutions to the Board.

This is a field sales role and will require travel across the UK and overseas for sales and customer visits, trade shows, events and conferences to fulfil the job. Clean driving licence essential. With an office base at Timber Bush, Leith, Edinburgh, Scotland, candidates must be eligible to live and work in the UK to apply for this position.

Hours of work 37.5 hours per week, Monday – Friday and weekend /out of hours work to get the job done. In return we offer an attractive base salary, commission, pension, 20 days holiday plus 8 public holidays.
