Essential Job Functions 
Appalachian State University seeks a Stock Clerk to assist in the operation of the Food Services storeroom requisitioning, receiving, storing and issuing groceries and supplies accurately. 

Duties include:
Unloading shipments from vendors daily which requires lifting 75-100 lbs with or without reasonable accommodation 
Storage and rotation of items 
Issuing supplies to all food service units 
Maintaining clerical records 
Making daily deliveries to all food service units 
Maintaining effective working relationships with other employees 
Cleaning floors, bathrooms, racks, coolers, and freezers 
Examining incoming products accurately 
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Required for this Position 
Ability to direct student employees in daily work procedures 
Basic computer skills to send daily orders for the warehouse along with a hand-held scanner to record vending transactions 
Attention to detail to make sure all requisition forms are filled out with correct quantities. Use the correct count size and amount when delivering products. Make sure invoices are correct when receiving products into the warehouse stock area 
Excellent and professional customer service skills 
Preferred Qualifications 
One (1) year of experience in the receipt, storage, and issuance of a variety of materials, supplies, or equipment 
One (1) year of experience in meat cutting 
Knowledge of inventory procedures 
Prefer experience using the Compu Vend inventory system and handheld devices

Work Schedule/Hours 
Monday – Friday, 4:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. Weekend work will be required for sporting events and rotating Saturday schedule.

Check with customers and/or vendors to ensure products meet needs. Establishes and maintains good relationship with community, faculty, staff, students and /or vendors. Contacts vendors, or clients to provide or obtain information. 

Mathematics: Applies working knowledge of adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing. Working knowledge in receiving and disbursing cash, inventory/merchandise. Maintains, verifies, and coordinates related records from a variety of sources. Notifies supervisor of errors or problems with processes and procedures. 

Pay will be commensurate with applicant competencies, budget, equity and market considerations.
