Plant Support – Limeplant – Pete Lien & Sons, Inc – Frannie, WY

An hourly employee who at the direction of a Plant Operator, Foreman or Supervisor supports production & sales activities, performs plant/area clean-up, provides general labor & backup support to other team members as required.

  • Responsibilities include the movement of materials to finished product, maintenance, repair and installation of process equipment. Fork lift experience is helpful.

  • Requires a highly motivated, self-starter, willingness to work outdoors doing physical work.

  • Ability to operate equipment such as forklifts, bob-cats and loaders.

  • Responsibilities include labor, maintenance and the movement of materials to finished product

  • Performs work to further supervisory objectives, management strategies, and company programs as assigned to the operational or technical area.

  • Recommends and upchannels suggested improvements to work efforts and tasks.

  • Executes day-to-day activities and tasks while adhering to safety policies, practices and SOPs and assuring quality and quantity of production or service.

  • Guides employees’ work to assure quality and quantity of production.

  • Reports issues and ideas generated during that shift to immediate supervisor in a timely manner, with safety concerns being the highest priority both in urgency and importance.

  • Responsible for adherence to rules and completion of assigned tasks.

  • Responsible for taking and/or reporting corrective action needed and/or variances, both from a productivity and safety aspect.

  • Adheres to company policy and practices.

  • Attend work regularly, punctually, and with preparedness including appropriate attire and PPE each shift start.

  • Exhibits appropriate communication, as the receiver and deliverer, to coworkers, support teams, visitors, and supervisory team.

  • Requirements


    Primary Job Functions
    – Handle various materials, such as feed materials for the plant to finished product. Finished product may consist of block, steel, pallets of material, fifty to one hundred pound bags, super sacks, or bulk into trucks. Movement of material may consist of various methods, including moving material with loaders, by hand, with bobcat skidloaders, or with forklifts. Operate and perform preventive maintenance on overhead cranes or articulated rubber-tired front-end loader equipped with front-mounted hydraulically powered bucket to lift and transport materials to and from storage areas from and to processing plant or into trucks. Operate and perform preventive maintenance on cranes, bobcat skidloader for clean up and forklift for loading trucks. Climb on to trucks, open hatches of trucks, inspect empty trucks to assure they are free of debris, load the trucks to desired levels, and secure loads. Prepare and test samples taken from trucks as required and certify on the scale ticket that the load has been quality assured. Fill bags and/or palletize material. Organize inventory of finished product in warehouse area. Load flat bed trucks with palletized loads. Sweep, clean, and shovel catwalks, ground and shop.


    Secondary Job Functions
    – Routine cleanup around the plant and inside the shops. Cleanup includes, but is not limited, to:

    1) Cleaning carriers and removing wedged rock from conveyors, clogged chutes, and catwalks using hands,

    bar or sledgehammer,

    2) Shoveling and removing spillage from moving equipment parts and work area with shovels and skidloader,

    3) Shoveling and sweeping area around the plant, and

    4) Assuming part or all of the responsibilities of the Plant Operator in their absences and assisting Plant Assistant.

    Must also perform any tasks as assigned by the Supervisor or Management team, including maintenance and repair on various pieces of equipment as skills allow, sampling and testing of process samples, computer input of shift duties and tasks, lubrication of plant equipment.


    Safety Equipment
    – The following safety equipment will be worn during the course of the job: hard hat, safety glasses, hard-toe footwear, gloves, safety belt and line, seat belt, respirator, and hearing protection as needed.


    Working Conditions
    – Must tolerate the following conditions: constant or intermittent exposure to heights, noise, dust, vibration, and irritating atmospheres; being exposed frequently to existing weather conditions; using vehicles which may not be climate controlled; working near petroleum products; repetitive, continuous and laborious work; and shaking, jostling and jarring without a direct threat of injury to the individual or others.


    Work Schedule
    – Shift work required and may consist of up to 5 consecutive 12 hour working shifts (day or night) as directed by the plant supervisor. This may occur during any part of the week as designated by the plant supervisor. Scheduled work is anywhere for 36 to 48 hours per week on average with overtime required based on scheduling needs. This shift schedule may change at any time. Regular attendance is required.


    Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
    – Ability to carry out simple oral and written instructions and deal with simple problems from standardized situations. Basic mathematical skills, including four basic functions and common units of measure. Ability to read and write Basic English language sufficiently to be able to read information contained in manuals, regulations, and reports and to complete various paper work. Ability to operate a two-way radio. Ability to detect safety hazards and equipment malfunctions, and to respond accordingly.
